Immigration, Citizenship and Refugees Canada (IRCC) has revised its guidelines for staff regarding Intra-Company Transferees (ICTs), with these updates officially released on October 3.

As a result of these changes, employers may face increased challenges in securing work permits for their employees under the International Mobility Program.

The new guidelines impose stricter criteria, requiring that the employer qualifies as a multinational corporation and that the employee possesses specialized knowledge essential for their position.

New program for people affected by the conflict in Sudan who have family in Canada

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is initiating a new humanitarian pathway focused on family reunification for Sudanese nationals and individuals of other nationalities who were residing in Sudan at the onset of the conflict on April 15, 2023. This pathway aims to facilitate their permanent reunification with family members residing in Canada.

The program should open on February 27, 2024. To be eligible, applicants must be a child of any age, grandchild, parent, grandparent, or sibling of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident currently residing in Canada.
