Study in Canada

Study in Canada as a international student

Canadian Study Permit - How to Apply?

With many broadly respected universities and other educational institutions, Canada is one of the top destinations to study. Many international students choose to study in Canada. . If you’re interested to study in Canada, you will probably need a Canadian study permit.

Following our guide, you’ll find out what you need to get this type of permit and start your educational journey in Canada.

Four Steps for Getting Canadian Study Permit

The first step is to check your eligibility. There are a few criteria that you should meet in order to be eligible to apply for a Canadian study permit.

Here are the requirements:

  • Acceptance letter that you should get from the Designated Learning Institution (DLI),
  • Proof of financial support should consist of documentation that shows sufficient funds for the tuition and living costs for the first year of study,
  • Supporting documentation must be submitted with the application. But, again, it depends from country to country, what you need to prepare, so it’s a good idea to check with us and  book a consultation with our Canadian immigration lawyer.

After knowing that you met all the criteria, the second step is to prepare your application.

Again, gather all the required documents and check them twice before you send the application. Immigration officers hold the right to refuse your study permit if they see that the application doesn’t meet all the required standards.

The third phase is submitting the study permit application. You can do this either online by submitting an electronic application or sending a paper-based one. And in the final stage, if everything goes well, you’ll receive your study permit at the Canadian Port of Entry (POE).
